Art in the Empire
The Ottomans were generous patrons of the arts. They produced textiles, jewelry, pottery, rugs silk and paintings. Their greatest contributions however, were in the field of architecture. The Ottomans built magnificent mosques throughout their realm. The mosques that have large open prayer areas, with imposing domes and minarets.
