|State-By-State tells the story of each of the 50 states of the United States. The presentation on each state includes a section on its vital statistics. These entries provide data on the population, land areas, size of economy and other important facts. A multimedia history of each state makes up an integral part of the program. A written chronology of the major events in each state’s history is also included.|
|The DEMOGRAPHY entry includes general demographic information and graphs depicting the
OVERALL POPULATION— from statehood–1990 and a chart of the 1994 STATE
POPULATION'S ETHNIC BREAKDOWN.
The ECONOMY entry includes general economic information and graphs depicting the STATE EXPENDITURE and STATE MAJOR AREAS OF EMPLOYMENT.
The HISTORY section includes a TIMELINE of major events in States history. This section also allows access to the MULTIMEDIA STATE HISTORY.
The MAJOR CITIES entry includes the 1994 POPULATION statistics for each state's TOP 10 cities.
The MAP entry includes a map showing the location of the state in the U.S., (along with the other states previosly admitted into the Union) and a state map from 1900.
The ELECTION RESULTS entry shows the top candidates in each presidential election (during which the state was a member of the Union) and the number of votes these candidates received in the state.
The SYMBOLS entry includes a list and image of each state’s FLAG, SEAL, FLOWER, BIRD and NICKNAME.
The VITAL STATISTICS entry includes basic information: (e.g. State Capital, state nicknames, origin of state name, overall population, & more.
The NAT’L HISTORICAL SITES entry includes a listing of all of the National Parks and Monuments located in each state. Several states have provided brief VIDEO CLIPS of the unique sites in their state’s boundaries.
The GEOGRAPHY entry includes basic geographical information (e.g. the state's highest, lowest and mid points) and a graph depicting the major LAND USE in the state.
