John Hersey

John Hersey was born in China in 1914. He began his writing career as an assistant to Sinclair Lewis and was a war correspondent for Time and LIFE magazines. He is best known for his novels that take place against the background of war. Hersey won a Pulitzer Prize for Hiroshima. Other well known works include The Wall and Man on Bataan.
