The President began his day with his Presidential security and economic briefing. He then met wtih his senior advisors. Next on his agenda the President met with the members of the Senate Finance Committee.

In the afternoon the President delivered remarks on the Senate vote to confirm Judge Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. It was a major but expected victory for the President. Sotomayor becomes the first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice.

The President then met with Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.

In a meeeting was added to his schedule during the day the President met wiht his assistant for Homeland Security and Counterrorism John Brennan.

In the evening the President delivered remarks at a fundraiser for State Senartor Creigh Dees and then spoke at a rally on behalf of the Senator.
