Day Eighty-Four April 14, 2009

The President began his day with his security briefing. Next the President received his daily economic briefing.

The President then traveled to Georgetwon Universithy to give what was billed a major economic address. In it he summarized the actvities of his administration in fighting the economic crisis. The President outlined the ways he saw the American economy developing in the future." Full Text.The biggest news of the day however, was the announcement by Press Secretary Gibbs of a major revision of US policy toward Cuba. The new policy removes all restrictions of visits and money transfer by Cuban Americans to their relatives in Cuba, and allows US telecoms to set up wireless networks in Cuba. The President thus fulfilled one of his campaign promises.

In the afternoon the major event was the public appearnace of the new Obama family dog "Bo"
