Day Seventy One April 1, 2009

The President began his day with a meeting with a private meeting with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. That meeting was then expanded to a larger meeting with the American Secretary of State and Treasury and their British conterparts. Both meetings were dedicated both to bilateral issues as well as planning for the G20 Summit that opened in the evening. The President and the Prime Minister then held a joint press conference. Next on the schedule for a very busy day was a meeting with President Medvedev. At the meeting the two Presidents agreed to begin negotiations between the two countries on reduction of nuclear arms. The meeting was described a cordial and warm by both the participants and observors. Comments

The President then met with opposition leader MP David Cameron.

The President then went on to meet with Chinese Premier HU.

Next on the busy days agenda was a meeting between the President and First Lady with Queen Elizabeth. they then went on to a reception for the leaders of the G-20.

The day ended with a working dinner with G-20 leaders.
