Day Fifty-Five March 16, 2009

The President began the day with his morning economic briefing. The President was forced to respond to the news over the weekend that AIG the company that has received the highest government bailout agreement was paying large bonuses to some of its top executives. The President called instructed the Treasury Secretary to do all in his power to block the bonuses. The President and the Secretary Geithner met with small business owners and bankers. The President then spoke to the leaders. He began his speech by attacking the AIG bonuses. he went on to speak about new programs to inclrease lending to small business. Text
