The Presdient began his day with his daily security and economic briefings. He then met with his senior advisors. The President then had a one on one meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. That expanded to meeting with the full staffs and then a press briefing. The President and the First Lady then hosted an event in hornor of the Olympic. The goal of the events was to hep promote Chicago as the home for the 2016 Olympics.

The President then had a meeting with Colin Powell. After his meeting with Colin Power the President then met with Secretary of Defense Gates. In the evening the President delivered remarks at the awards gala of the Congressional Hispanic Causus Institute.
