1953 F-100 First Flight e On May 25th 1953 North American aviation test pilot George Welsh flew the YF Super Sabre on its maiden voyage. The Sabre broke the sound barrier on its first flight. The F-100 entered air force serviced in 1954 and remained in service until 1972. A total of 2, 247 of the aircraft were aquired by the airforce. |
